Creating Paw-sitive Bonds & Forever Homes
At the Animal Orphanage, we’re passionate about giving animals a second chance at a happy, healthy life.
From rescue to adoption, we help thousands of lost or abandoned animals in our community find food, care, and a loving forever home.
We’re dedicated to reuniting pets with their owners or helping them find new families, ensuring both animals and people experience the joy of unconditional love.
Our Mission
We are a no-kill animal shelter admitting stray cats and dogs through police or animal control. Located in Old Town, Maine.

💛 Meet Daisy — A Sweet, Goofy Girl With a Heart That Needs Healing 💔
When Daisy, a 6-year-old Bluetick Coonhound, arrived at our shelter with her best friend Lady, she instantly made herself known—not with barking or chaos, but with her big, floppy ears, soulful eyes, and a silly, gentle charm that had us all smiling in no time. She flops dramatically onto her bed, greets staff with full-body tail wags, and has already become a favorite among the team.
Daisy is sunshine in dog form. But behind her goofball grin, she’s facing something very serious.
At her first vet appointment for routine vaccines, Daisy tested positive for heartworm—a heartbreaking and unexpected diagnosis.
