Welcome

Chestnut
Our community has been asking for an update on the Golden Retriever that Old Town Police Department rescued over the summer, so here we are to share it!
We have named him Chestnut. He is an amazing dog who is full of life and love who unfortunately has a long road to recovery ahead of him. Chestnut was recently diagnosed with Diabetes Insipidus which is one of the rarer diagnoses in dogs. It is characterized by excessive thirst/drinking and the production of enormous volumes of extremely dilute urine. This is a life-long diagnosis that will need to be treated daily with DDAVP treatment. He also tested positive for heartworms, which will be an extensive and long treatment. We are currently doing everything in our power to help this handsome guy through his treatments to give him the best life possible.
Chestnut is now living with his forever home, in an foster to adopt program where he will have a secure home to rest and recover in during this long process.
Chestnut is one of our more complicated cases, so we are reaching out to our caring community to help us to help him! Please consider donating to his cause by clicking here.
