## Meet Rex!
If Rex could design his perfect day, it would probably involve a car ride, an adventure just about anywhere, plenty of toys, and spending quality time with his favorite person. Throw in a chance to splash around in some water and he'd call that a pretty successful day!
At five years old, Rex is a fun-loving, playful boy with a big personality and an even bigger heart for the people he trusts. He's been with us at The Animal Orphanage for almost two years now, and while we've loved getting to know all his quirks, we think it's about time this handsome guy found a place to call his own!
Rex is a ladies' man through and through! He absolutely adores women and forms incredibly strong bonds once he's comfortable. He's affectionate, loyal, and always up for an adventure with his favorite people. Whether it's exploring somewhere new, playing with his toys, or heading out for a car ride, Rex is happiest when he's spending time with someone he loves.
Now, Rex does have a few requests when it comes to his future living arrangements. He's looking for a **women-only household without children, cats, or small animals.** He may be able to share his home with another dog, preferably one with a similar or lower energy level, but multiple proper meet-and-greets would be needed to make sure everyone is a good match.
Rex also has a thyroid condition that requires ongoing medication and management. He can resource guard, so he'll need someone who understands the importance of structure, consistency, and respecting his boundaries. Stella has a pretty simple philosophy when it comes to relationships: quality over quantity! She's not looking to be everyone's best friend, but if you're lucky enough to earn a spot in her inner circle, you've got yourself one incredibly loyal, loving, and slightly goofy companion for life!
At around four years old, Stella is a sweet, playful girl with a whole lot of love to give. She's been with us at The Animal Orphanage for a year now, and while we've loved watching her grow, we think it's about time this girl found a place to call her own!
Once Stella decides you're one of her people, her personality really starts to shine! She's affectionate, silly, and forms incredibly strong bonds with those she trusts. She loves spending time with her favorite humans and isn't shy about showing them just how much they mean to her.
Stella has also been working hard on becoming the best version of herself! She spent time training with our trainer, Christine, focusing on leash manners, recall, settling, building confidence, and learning how to navigate situations that might feel a little scary. She made some wonderful progress, and we're continuing to build on those skills here at the shelter. In fact, Stella decided pretty quickly that Christine was going to be one of her favorite people!
And the training doesn't stop when Stella goes home! She has a few training classes saved specifically for her future adopter, so they can work alongside her trainer to continue building on her skills, strengthen their bond, and help Stella feel confident in her new home. Think of it as a little head start on becoming the ultimate best-friend duo!
Now, Stella does have some preferences when it comes to finding her forever home. She can be reactive toward men and is most comfortable with women, so a female-led household would be the best fit for her. This lovely lady came to us over the summer after being found on her own, and she's been patiently waiting for someone to give her the loving home she deserves!
Luna can be a little shy when meeting new people, but don't let that fool you! Give her a little time, some patience, and maybe a few tasty treats, and you'll start to see her sweet personality shine. Once she's comfortable, she's more than happy to soak up some affection and enjoy quality time with her favorite people.
And if there's one thing Luna takes seriously, it's PLAYTIME! This girl loves her toys and is always happy to have a little fun. Whether she's playing with her favorites or enjoying some attention from her people, Luna knows how to appreciate the little things in life.
When it comes to making canine friends, Luna likes to be a little selective. She's not necessarily looking to be besties with every dog she meets, and that's perfectly fine! She may do well living with another dog if their personalities click, but slow, proper introductions and successful meet-and-greets will be important to make sure everyone is comfortable. We're still unsure how she feels about cats, so a cat-free home may be the best option unless safe and appropriate introductions can be arranged.
