Train for Tomorrow - A Second Chance for our Shelter Dogs

At the Animal Orphanage, we believe every dog deserves the chance to become their very best self. Some of our pups need specialized behavioral training to build confidence, learn coping skills, and overcome past trauma.

That’s why we launched Train for Tomorrow, a campaign to give our shelter dogs access to professional, life-changing behavioral training with Christine McAvoy, one of our most trusted training partners.

Why Christine's Training Works

Christine’s program is different because dogs live in her home during their training. This immersive approach helps dogs:

  • Learn to navigate a real household

  • Build confidence in everyday environments

  • Practice calm behavior indoors and outdoors

  • Gain structure, boundaries, and trust in humans

By living with Christine, dogs learn how to thrive in a home, not just succeed in a training session. For dogs coming from trauma or long shelter stays, this can be a life-changing experience.

Success Stories

Quinn – Terrified of strangers, Quinn completed 2 months of intensive training and is now calm, social, and thriving in a loving home.

Lyric – Terrified of small spaces, Lyric learned coping skills in one month and now enjoys life in his forever home.

Grace – Fearful of medical care, Grace spent 3 months in training, gained confidence, and now lives stress-free with her forever family.

Sammy – Highly reactive to strangers, Sammy’s training helped her learn manners and social skills, leading to a safe, loving adoption.

Rex – Completed muzzle training with Christine and continues to build confidence while waiting for his forever home.

Stella – Next in line for training, Stella needs help overcoming fear of humans and car rides to safely find her forever home.

How You Can Help

One month of Christine’s training costs $4,000, covering:

  • Daily one-on-one sessions

  • Customized behavior plans

  • Confidence-building exercises

  • Enrichment and specialized equipment

  • Video updates and post-adoption support

Our goal: $15,000 this year to send at least three dogs to training. Every donation, large or small, makes a difference:

  • $25 – Training treats & enrichment supplies

  • $50 – Supports a training session

  • $100 – Provides specialized equipment

  • $250 – Supports a full day of training

  • $500+ – Contributes toward a week of training

  • $4,000 – Sponsors one dog for a life-changing month

Your support gives our dogs the chance to heal, grow, and find loving homes.
