Salem
Meet Salem!
Salem is a handsome 4-year-old cat with a tender heart and a naturally shy nature. He’s still learning that people can be safe and kind, and lately he’s been making wonderful progress. While he may still hiss when he’s frightened, he has started to let staff gently touch him with a glove—an incredible step forward for this sweet boy who’s trying so hard to trust.
Salem is FIV-positive (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), a condition that affects a cat’s immune system and makes it a bit harder for him to fight off infections. But don’t let that discourage you—FIV+ cats can live long, healthy, happy lives with proper care and a calm indoor environment. FIV is not contagious to people or other animals, and is typically only transmitted to other cats through deep bite wounds, which are rare among friendly, neutered cats.
Because of his FIV status, Salem must be kept indoors and should either be the only cat in the home or live with other FIV+ cats.

Kipper

Kipper adores people and other cats, though he can be a bit enthusiastic when meeting new feline friends—his excitement and curiosity can sometimes be overwhelming at first. With proper introductions, he does wonderfully and truly enjoys playing and socializing with both cats and humans. He would thrive in a calm, patient home that allows him to continue building confidence at his own pace. Due to his sensitive nature, Kipper would do best in a home without young children. We’re unsure how he feels about dogs, but with slow introductions, he may do just fine.
