Salem
Meet Salem!
Salem is a handsome 4-year-old cat with a tender heart and a naturally shy nature. He’s still learning that people can be safe and kind, and lately he’s been making wonderful progress. While he may still hiss when he’s frightened, he has started to let staff gently touch him with a glove—an incredible step forward for this sweet boy who’s trying so hard to trust.
Salem is FIV-positive (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), a condition that affects a cat’s immune system and makes it a bit harder for him to fight off infections. But don’t let that discourage you—FIV+ cats can live long, healthy, happy lives with proper care and a calm indoor environment. FIV is not contagious to people or other animals, and is typically only transmitted to other cats through deep bite wounds, which are rare among friendly, neutered cats.
Because of his FIV status, Salem must be kept indoors and should either be the only cat in the home or live with other FIV+ cats.

Wendy is a sweet, affectionate 1-year-old girl who adores her people and loves being the center of attention. She would thrive as the only pet in the home—other animals tend to overstimulate her, which leads to stress and overgrooming.
When Wendy recently had a litter of kittens, she began overgrooming herself and experienced some hair loss on both sides. Since being separated from other cats, she’s already showing signs of healthy new growth, and we’re confident she’ll fully regain her beautiful coat in a calm, loving home.

Uma is a gentle, shy girl who’s truly started to bloom here at the shelter. While she’s still learning that people can be kind and safe, she’s made incredible progress—and we couldn’t be prouder. She now allows staff to pet her, and when she does, she purrs up a storm 🥹💖
Uma needs a patient, understanding home where she can continue building trust at her own pace. Once she feels comfortable, her sweet personality really begins to shine.
Because of her sensitive nature, Uma would do best in a calm, quiet home without children—one where she can keep blossoming into the wonderful cat we know she is.

With gentle encouragement and understanding, Ursula has the potential to continue blossoming into a more confident companion.
